Han

Due to the expeditious progression of economy and technology, there is a destruction of normative structure within South Korea. This causes a state of ‘anomie’– meaning that there is moral ambiguity as the community does not share collective rules of virtuous conduct. As a result, the conceptual publication, ‘Han’, looks at the plastic surgery phenomenon, overworking and political corruption that arises from this ideology, and explores these social ironies through the visual utilisation of Kitsch and Augmented Reality.
